Printers and the corresponding labels to print name badges

This article provides an overview of the different printer models that are compatible with Sweap's current printing functionality. It also includes a list of the available label types, each with a direct Amazon purchase link, as well as a short checklist highlighting the key questions you should consider before ordering your labels.

*DK-11209 is the standard label used by Sweap and the most commonly selected option. When renting hardware through our service partner, one roll of this label type is included with each printer setup.

4. Large-Format Printer: Brother QL-1110NWB
We have expanded our product range to include the Brother QL-1110NWB.
This printer supports extra-wide labels of up to 103 mm, making it ideal for large-format name badges or shipping labels.

6. Label Recommendations for Textiles
In the past, we stated that only the DK-11234 was suitable for use on textiles.
This information was based on Brother’s product description, according to which this label was specifically designed for visitor badges and features a removable adhesive.
After reviewing the technical specifications of the DK labels again, we found no explicit statement indicating that other DK labels are unsuitable for textiles.
Likewise, there is no official confirmation that all other DK labels exclusively use a permanent adhesive.
We also found that the adhesive properties described in the technical specifications are based on the surface material rather than the specific label type.
This means that the adhesive properties of DK labels may vary depending on the material they are applied to, regardless of the specific label model.
To investigate this further, we conducted our own tests using various DK labels on different textiles.
We checked whether the labels left any adhesive residue after removal.
The tests were carried out on the following materials:
- Blazer made of 100% viscose
- T-shirt made of 100% cotton
- Coarse wool sweater
- Shirt made of 100% cotton
Result: None of the tested labels left any adhesive residue on the garments.
These tests indicate that, in addition to the DK-11234, other DK labels may also be suitable for temporary use on textiles. However, we still recommend testing the label on the specific material beforehand, particularly when working with delicate fabrics such as silk, leather, suede, or similar materials
