Event credits

Alexandra Frey Updated by Alexandra Frey

Event credits help you keep track of how many individual events you can create in Sweap during your license period. In this article, you’ll learn how event credits work, when they’re used up, where you can view your current balance, and what options you have if your credits run out.

1. What are Event credits?

Event credits are your currency for individual events in Sweap. Different plans include a set number of credits per license period—each new event you create uses one of these credits.

The credits are tied to your license period and are reset to the quota included in your plan when you renew your license. Unused credits are not carried over to the next period and expire.

Event credits are different from active events. You can have an unlimited number of active events at any time—credits are only deducted when you create or duplicate events.

3. How are credits used up?

Each event you create uses 1 credit—it doesn't matter whether you build your event from scratch or create a duplicate of an existing event. Below is a list of what counts as usage and what doesn't:

Usage of a credit
  • Create a new event
  • Duplicate an existing event
No credit used
  • Edit an existing event
  • Activate or deactivate an event
  • Delete an event

Event series: A complete event series uses only 1 credit in total, regardless of how many individual sessions it contains.

Important: Deleting an event does not restore the credit used. Once a credit has been used, it remains used for the remainder of the license period—even if the event is subsequently deleted. Credits are only reset when you renew your license.

4. Where can I view my current quota?

You can check your remaining credits in two places in Sweap:

  • Sidebar
A credit counter is always visible, so you can quickly check your current balance while you work.
  • Account Settings -> Plan & Billing
In the “Event Credit” section, you can see your total credit balance, how many credits have already been used, and how many are still available.

Sweap also displays a warning when you have only 1 credit remaining, so you can plan ahead before you reach your limit.

5. What happens when the credits run out?

Once all credits have been used up, you will no longer be able to create new events or duplicate existing ones. These features will remain disabled until you either purchase additional credits or renew your license.

Once this limit is reached, a clear notification will be displayed in the product.

6. How do I get extra credits?

If you need additional credits before your license renewal date, you have two options:

  • Purchase an add-on: You can purchase a one-time top-up of 5 additional credits. You can make this purchase directly in your account under “Plan & Billing.”
  • Upgrade: Our plans include different credit allowances. If the Starter allowance is no longer sufficient, you can upgrade to the Pro Plan. In addition to Starter and Pro, we offer our Enterprise Plan, which provides you with unlimited credits. Feel free to contact us for advice.
Please note: Purchased add-on credits expire at the end of your license period and will not be carried over to the next period. If they are not used during the current license period, they will therefore expire.
