In this article, you will learn how to embed an external consent management system (also known as a cookie banner) on a Sweap registration page.
Consent management on registration pages
Consent management is a system or process that allows visitors to your website to determine what personal information they are willing to share with you or your company. Websites are legally required to obtain user consent when collecting data via cookies while using the website. This particularly applies to tracking cookies that are used to analyze user behavior or for marketing purposes.

There are numerous providers of consent management tools. All of them work a little differently, so we cannot guarantee the functionality of all tools. We have successfully tested Usercentrics in combination with Google Analytics on Sweap registration pages. Other combinations must be tested individually.
Integration of consent management on registration pages
You can link a consent management tool of your choice to a Sweap registration page, as long as the tool provides you with a code (<script>) for it. You can find out where this code needs to be integrated from your consent management provider, but in most cases the code needs to be copied into the “Page Settings” under “Custom Head HTML”.
As soon as the code is embedded, you should be able to see the active cookie banner on your page in the “Preview”. As soon as you publish your registration page and your event status is “active”, visitors to your website can accept or reject your cookies.

Consent management tools are not included in Sweap and are therefore third-party tools. Therefore, we can only offer limited support for integrating the tool. We cannot offer support for configuring cookie banners and other settings that are unrelated to Sweap.
